Tutela ("Tutela," "we," "us") is operated by Vocify LLC, 1021 East Lincolnway, Cheyenne, WY 82001, United States. These Terms of Service govern your use of usetutela.app and the mock-interview service we provide there (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, and any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming.
Tutela gives you a live, timed mock interview with an AI interviewer, followed by a written account of what happened in the conversation — the questions you were asked, what you said, and an assessment of specific moments — rather than a numeric score. Sessions cover coding and system-design interview practice.
The Service is a practice tool. It does not represent, and should not be read as representing, any real employer, and completing a session does not guarantee any interview outcome, job offer, or improvement in your actual interview performance.
You need an account to use the Service. You can create one with an email and password, or sign in through a third-party identity provider we support. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
The Service is intended for people aged 16 and over and is not directed at anyone under 16. We chose 16 because it is the standard age at which most jurisdictions let someone consent to an online service collecting their data without a parent or guardian involved; if the law in your country sets a higher age for that consent, that age applies instead.
If you are invited into a session by an organisation (for example, an employer using Tutela to evaluate candidates), that organisation authenticates you through its own identity system. The organisation receives confirmation that a session happened and your credit/usage consumption; it does not receive your session transcript, code, or AI-generated feedback through anything we provide.
The Service is sold as prepaid credits, purchased as top-ups through Stripe. There is no subscription and we do not hold your card on file — each purchase is a one-time charge through Stripe's checkout, and nothing is charged automatically after that.
All purchases are final. Credits are non-refundable once bought, for any reason, including if you do not use them.
Purchased credits — the top-ups you buy — do not expire. Any promotional or allowance credits we grant you separately are valid only for the period stated when they are granted.
We do not receive or store your payment card details. Stripe processes your payment directly under its own terms and privacy policy.
Sessions produce a transcript of what was said, any code you write during a session, and AI-generated feedback based on that transcript. You retain ownership of what you say and write during a session. You grant us the right to store and process that content to provide the Service — generating your feedback, showing you your own session history, and (for organisation-sponsored sessions) confirming usage to the sponsoring organisation.
Today, we do not record or store audio or video of your sessions; only the text transcript, your code, and the generated feedback are retained. We reserve the right to record and store session audio or video in the future, and we expect to. If we do, we will update these terms and our Privacy Policy before recording applies to your sessions.
The interviewer and the feedback you receive are generated by AI models. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or reflect the AI's own limitations. Feedback is not professional career advice, and we do not guarantee it reflects how any real interviewer or employer would assess you.
You agree not to use the Service to:
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time by contacting us at support@usetutela.app. We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms. As with any other purchase, credits remaining in your account at closure or termination are not refunded.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any AI-generated feedback will be accurate.
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY — IT LIMITS WHAT YOU CAN RECOVER FROM US. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, including the laws of Wyoming, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or relating to your use of the Service, even if we were told such damages were possible. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose or US$100. These limits apply whether the claim is based on contract, negligence, or any other legal theory. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for willful or wanton misconduct, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law, and it does not remove any consumer rights you have under the law where you live. Some US states do not allow certain damages to be excluded or limited, so some of the limits above may not apply to you if you live in one of those states.
If you live outside the United States, the law where you live may give you rights these terms cannot take away. Those rights apply alongside these terms, and nothing in these terms limits them.
European Union, EEA and United Kingdom. If you use the Service as a consumer:
Nigeria. If you live in Nigeria, you keep your rights under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018, and nothing in these terms limits them.
Other countries. Where your local consumer law gives you rights that differ from these terms, those rights apply as far as that law requires.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version here and change the "Effective" date at the top.
If a change is material, we will tell you by email and with a notice in the Service at least 30 days before it takes effect. Any change to how credits work, including their price, what they can be used for, or whether they expire (section 4), is always material. Such a change applies only to credits bought after it takes effect, never to credits you already hold.
If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply to you. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using the Service before it takes effect.
